Last week, I asked my sister what she thought I should work on for Camp NaNoWriMo. She arched a brow and asked, “Aren’t you still editing your first novel? Did you finish?”
“Well, no. But, I have two other novels that are half way through and an idea for a novella I want to start.” I told her, sheepishly, because I knew what was coming.
“Girl, what did I tell you? One thing at a time. Finish what you started, then move on to the next one.” She reminded.
So, four days into Camp NaNoWriMo, and I’m editing my first complete novel. My sister is right. As much as I want to work on all my projects, I have to finish what’s already done. If I leave the editing half way through, it’ll never be finished. I’ll have a bunch of unfinished WIPs and be overwhelmed on what to do.
I may have a ways to go, but I’m one step closer to making my book a reality. I’m on the right path and I have the right people in my life to keep me focused. There is plenty of time with more WriMos to write soon. All I have to do is finish what I start.
